Spain-Taxes on Jewish Heads

Taxes paid on Jewish Heads in Spain per village or hamlet

A great indicator of the size of a Jewish Population in any given town can be somewhat measured by the taxes that were being paid to the Crown. As a matter of fact, one of the ONLY documents that I was able to find in the village of my ancestors was a tax record that proved that Jews had lived there.

In this collection there are entries for many villages and hamlets and sometimes they are so small that they include several villages in one tax collection amount. Most of the years mentioned are between 1439-1491 and if I have found different sources for the same location, I have included it.
